A Message of Appreciation from the Mayor of Moonee Valley

The Mayor recognised the organisation’s contribution to the local community and its support for Somali-Australian families. The letter acknowledges the important work of Somali Community Inc. and its team, and that recognition is shared with the volunteers and community members who are part of that work.

Dr Rose Iser (opens in a new tab) was Mayor of the City of Moonee Valley when this letter was written and received.

Strong communities are built through cooperation, trust and a shared commitment to supporting one another. We are proud of the relationships we have developed with local councils, community organisations, volunteers and residents across Victoria.

We sincerely appreciate this recognition of the work of our organisation, volunteers and community members. It encourages us to continue supporting families, empowering young people, celebrating culture and contributing to a more connected and inclusive Moonee Valley.

We thank Mayor Rose Iser for her kind words, encouragement and support.

We look forward to continuing our work through Somali Community Inc.’s programs and initiatives, while working with partners to support a welcoming and inclusive community for everyone.
